step 1. Put on gloves

Always wear the protective gloves provided in the kit before beginning your application. Gloves help prevent staining on your hands.

H3: Step 2. Mix developer and black hair color

Empty the colorant into the developer bottle and shake well until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Be sure the formula is fully blended to ensure even coverage and bold, consistent results.

Step 3. Apply mixture evenly to sectioned dry hair

Part hair into 4 sections for easier control, then apply the color mixture from root to tip. Use your fingers (with gloves) or an applicator brush to distribute evenly, smoothing it through for full saturation.

Step 4. Wait 30 minutes

Allow the color to process for 30 minutes on natural hair. If your hair is relaxed, leave the mixture on for 20 minutes instead. This timing ensures the black-brown hair color develops properly without over-processing.

Step 5. Rinse thoroughly

Rinse your hair well with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. This step helps lock in the permanent hair color in natural black while washing away any excess product. Avoid shampooing immediately after rinsing.

Step 6. Condition with Moisture Mask

Apply the included Moisture Mask generously to help restore hydration after coloring. Infused with shea butter, sunflower oil, and vitamin E, the treatment nourishes hair and seals in your hair color with softness and shine.

Root Retouch ApplicationFollow this method if you colored with Fade Resist Natural Black Brown Hair Color or a similar neutral black hair color and it has been 6-8 weeks since you last colored.

Step 1. Apply to roots

Using the tip of the applicator bottle, part your hair into small sections and apply the black permanent hair color mixture directly to new growth. Make sure all roots are fully saturated for even coverage.

Step 2. Wait 20 minutes

Leave the color on for 20 minutes if you have natural hair or 15 minutes if you have relaxed hair. This ensures the new growth develops to a rich black hair color that blends seamlessly with your previously colored hair.

Step 3. Refresh midlengths and ends

To revive faded color, work the remaining mixture through the midlengths and ends of your hair. This step helps refresh your brown black hair color shade from root to tip.

Step 4. Wait additional 10 minutes

Allow the mixture to process for an additional 10 minutes on natural hair or 5 minutes on relaxed hair. This helps restore depth, shine, and uniformity without over-processing.

Step 5. Rinse thoroughly

Rinse your hair well with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Avoid shampooing immediately to help the black-brown pigments lock in.

Step 6. Condition with Moisture Mask

Apply the included Moisture Mask to replenish hydration and smooth strands after touching up your roots.
Pro Tips:• For hair with resistant gray, apply to gray areas first.
• If any color mixture gets on skin, simply wipe off with towel. 
• More than one box of Natural Black-Brown hair color may be necessary per application depending on hair length and texture. 
• Do not save any unused mixture. The container may explode.
